So you want to join us?

INDIVIDUALS

If you wish to play softball for an already established team then you need to get in CONTACT with us and once all the teams have entered their members we can see if we can add any individuals into them.

If all teams are full and you would still like to play every week then we advise that you turn up on the Downs before the games and have an ask around to see if anyone needs any players.

TEAMS

So you have a team together ...

CHECKLIST:

Members: Minimum of 10 (best to have at least 15 people to call on). There are at least 5 girls to 5 boys (we do allow 6:4 ratio if there aren't enough of one sex, however there are certain fielding rules regarding boy:girl 6:4 ratio which you will find on the RULES page.

Time: Your team must commit to playing every Wednesday. You will be penalised (scoring, alas no fines) if you fail to produce a full team.

Subs: To enter a team into the league you must pay subs to the League of £125. This money goes towards: Admin, Bar-b-q, Prizes, Website, Advertising

Any money that is left in the kitty at the end of the season will go towards alcohol (sensible spending I think you'll agree) and food at the end of season BALL

It is also advised that your team members pay subs to your team, to help cover equipment costs

Kit: You will need to provide your own kit. We suggest as a starter kit of at least 3 bats of different weights and a few balls. You will need some gloves too, small to large, left and right handed. Most established teams have pitch mats, so these are not so essential. You will need a bag to keep all your kit in.
